This common weed is one of my favorite spring plants. The greens are bitter while the plant is in bloom, but the flower petals are nice sprinkled on salads.

another less popular flower – I don’t eat this one, but I admire them every year! this is the stinky skunk cabbage of the swamps.

Here is a delicate Wood Anemone – the flower looks like wild strawberry, but the leaves are feathery, and it likes the shaded woods.
